The JLS follows MLA Style. The key features of this style are:
1) All quotations should be given within double quotation marks
2) All cited material should have an in-text citation, generally using a short title and page number
3) A Works Cited section should appear at the end of each article
4) Endnotes should be kept to an absolute minimum; footnotes are not used
For specific information on how to present a Works Cited list, and how to give in-text citations of different kinds, please refer to the 8th edition of the MLA Handbook. If authors do not have the MLA Handbook as a reference guide, then some aspects of MLA style can be found at various online sources. The most accessible is the MLA guidance given by the online writing project at Purdue University.
